The Dark Side
Here we are yet again being shuffled around, laid off and fired once again in the name of the latest Tech AI driven gold rush. This is no way to treat the most important resource that our very future will depend on. This is by-product of operating on the Dark-Side of technology. It is very disparaging, causing many of us to leave the field; and young future scientist and engineers to avoid it all together. Today scientists & Engineers have a choice. You can leave the dark side and join Osixs. This is where the real fight for the future begins.
If possible, most Industries would like to save even more money by eliminating the real elite (Scientist and Engineers). The Dark Side can’t get any darker than this. As much as AI has progressed it is certainly not an end-all and it's certainly nowhere near replacing software engineers. And you have to question, is that something we really want? Handing the keys and control structures of the human race over to an artificial life form, intelligent or not, it doesn’t sound intelligent to me. Sounds like madness and much worse - Suicide!

Tipping Point

We are currently moving backwards in time financially, as we slowly regress back to the middle ages where most people were peasants and surfs. Like all things, there is a beginning and an end. A tipping point will be reached sooner if not later. And sooner if not later we will be forced to start developing for the other 99% of the population. That means we have a lot of work to do. I’m not looking forward to that. To start, we don’t have nearly enough tech personnel. We will need at least 3 or 4 times todays’ current levels. You will have a lot of work to do. 30 years of neglect has created a lot of problems along with the pre-existing backlog and baggage. But that’s the difference between living in a digital bubble and a full scale digital society.
